About St. Jude
St. Jude, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ mentioned in the New Testament, is often referred to as "Jude Thaddeus" to distinguish him from Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus. Devotion to St. Jude, recognized as the patron saint of lost causes and desperate situations, has grown over the centuries. Venerated as a powerful intercessor, many turn to St. Jude for help and guidance. The arm relic of St. Jude, curated by Dominican friars at the Shrine in Chicago and reported to be the largest relic of an apostle outside of Rome, is available for daily viewing when not taken on missions around the country. Revered by Catholics, the relic represents a tangible connection to the Apostle’s spiritual presence.
