Joining in the International Rosary for Peace
The brothers of St. Dominic Priory in Denver, Colorado had a double celebration on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, as they dedicated their new statue of Our Lady of Mercy in the garden before joining other Dominicans from around the world in praying the Rosary at 7 pm local time.
In preparation for the Jubilee Year of 2025, brother Gerard Timoner III, Master of the Order, invited Dominicans from around the world to join in a great symphony of prayer by praying the Rosary at 7pm local time on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, 7 October 2024.
The friars in St. Dominic Priory in Denver have been in the new priory for two-and-a-half years, and have finally been able to turn their full attention to Our Lady's Garden. Central to this is a statue of Our Lady of Mercy, donated by Robert and Mary Ann Stenger from Louisville, Kentucky. Robert was a member of the Novitiate class of 1954, and the statue is dedicated to his novitiate classmates.
The community used this opportunity to dedicate the statue with a Salve Regina procession and a solemn blessing by the prior (video shown below), and then prayed the international Rosary out in the garden in front of Our Lady of Mercy.
