As hundreds of faithful gathered to celebrate and pray the Novena to St. Jude Thaddeus in St. Dominic’s Church in Denver, it became clear to all that sharing this decades-old devotion throughout the Province had been accepted. Young children accompanied their parents. Older folks brought their cares and concerns to the altar.
The people of Denver, who in the midst of the nine day Novena experienced the horrors of a mass shooting only miles away, came to show their devotion to the patron Saint of hope. We all prayed for their intentions and for those thousands praying alongside us in their homes, while commuting, in their workplaces, and even in backyards across the country.
We give special thanks to all who attended, to the Dominican community in Denver who expectedly proved invaluable, and to those who prayed with us during these solemn days. May God bless you through the intercession of St. Jude Thaddeus.
Look for the next Novena to St. Jude Thaddeus to begin on October 17, returning to beautiful St. Vincent Ferrer Church in River Forest, Illinois. Please join us.
