If you have followed the news recently, you are probably aware of the slaughter of 21 Coptic Christians in Egypt. The White House refuses to denote these acts as any more than “religious terrorism,” and not name it what it truly is: Islamic extremism. In the following video, I discuss the these heinous humanitarian crimes from a Dominican perspective, focusing on the “virtus,” the truth of the situation.
I ask you to join me and Dominicans throughout the world in praying for not only our friends, but our enemies, too, in the spirit of Lent. In this time of penance and reflection, we are called to be mindful of the truth around us, to name these truths, and to act upon them with justice. This is our Dominican reality.
